The Why
EQI Balance Essential Aminos & Vitamin E was created with a clear goal: to support the overall health of the equine athlete through purposeful nutrition.
As I refined my feed program, I realized I wanted a specific product that all my horses could use while still addressing individual needs. Horses with metabolic challenges. Horses requiring higher levels of support than the average individual. A formula designed to stand alone in supporting muscle development, recovery, and maintenance without layering in additional vitamins or minerals that I prefer to measure and manage independently.
I set out to build a supplement that would complement a strong feeding program and help bring out the best in a horse whether in competition, training, rebuilding from injury, recovering from illness, or maintaining condition.
The foundation matters. The right support can elevate it.
EQI is:
· Non-alfalfa based
· Free from unnecessary inflammatory ingredients
· Transparent in its dosing
· Formulated using free-form amino acids
L-Lysine: Often the most limiting AA in equine diets. Supports muscle development, immune function and hoof/coat health.
L-Arginine: Promotes blood flow, oxygen/nutrient delivery to muscle tissue and faster recovery from exercise.
L-Methionine: Important for muscle metabolism and antioxidant pathways. Significant for hoof/coat health, joint health and muscle development. Highly limited AA in equine diets.
L-Threonine: Gut health support, muscle development and immune function.
L-Leucine: Key driver of muscle protein synthesis supporting muscle repair and development.
L-Valine: Promotes muscle growth, tissue repair, energy source, supports liver function and immune system health.
L-Isoleucine: Energy source, enhances muscle repair and supports endurance. Overall immune system support.
L-Phenylalanine: Contributes to neurological function and serves as precursor for neurotransmitters such as dopamine. Supports overall body condition and immune system health.
L-Histidine: Crucial for tissue growth/repair, muscle repair and producing carnosine to buffer muscle acid during exercise. Overall immune system support.
L-Tryptophan: Supports neuromuscular balance and overall wellness. Plays a role in recovery and stress modulation. Must be provided through diet or supplementation.
Vitamin E (as d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate): A stable and effective source. Critical for protecting muscle cells from oxidative stress and supporting recovery. Source and stability matter.
Magnesium Glycinate (designed as complement, not a replacement): A well absorbed source and critical for muscle contraction and relaxation, neuromuscular signaling and energy metabolism. Included as a supportive level to complement AA utilization and overall muscle function without disrupting balanced mineral programs.
Our philosophy:
Provide the body with high-quality tools and allow it to do the work it was designed to do.
